    What does that mean to us.

United as Christians: To believe in the Apostle’s Creed;

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;*
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

United as a Church: To put aside our differences. What or who you like does not matter. We must be a United Congregation. We must do God’s will. God’s will is for every church to be united in the same mission. To make more disciples, by spreading The Word of God, and by living the teachings of Jesus who is The Christ.

United as a Community: To work in unity, with the other churches, within our community. We must work together to connect with the community. We must provide resources and events that will draw the members of our community to us. We must do this so that we can have the opportunity to introduce them to The Word of God and The Salvation of Jesus.

United as Methodist:  The Community United Methodist Church is just one spoke on a very large wheel, known as The United Methodist Church. We must be open minded. We must reach out to other Methodist Churches in our area. By being more interactive with other Methodist Churches, we may gain some knowledge that may help us be better servants to God. We may also learn of different resources opportunities that would provide new ways of involving the community.

United in Heaven: The days of our earthly lives are numbered. Our earthly lives are the opportunity to gain everlasting life in heaven. Know God’s Word. Live to do God’s Will. Jesus has made it clear as to how we must live, to be given everlasting life in heaven. HEAVEN IS FOREVER !!!
